Australian Security Fencing - Secureglide Gates

The Secureglide series of Vehicle gates by ASF eliminate the need for any ground tracks or overhead rails. Operation is therefore fast, reliable and capable of allowing vehicular and pedestrian access for secure areas. ASF Secureglide gates offer a complete solution to any security fencing requirement.

The Secureglide gates will complement existing Securemax Welded Mesh panels which surround many high security installations in such areas as: Ports authorities, Rail infrastructure , government utilities sites , corrective services and defence installations sites.

The Secureglide gates feature a fully welded RHS steel section to form the frame, this is replicated in the design of the catch posts and A frames. The Securemax Welded Infill panel then fixes to the framework both in flat or corrugated form. This allows custom design for spans of up to nine metres.

You can feel secure behind an ASF Secureglide Gate with an ASF in-house designed High Strength Slide Bolt Locking Mechanism, Tough Securemax 358 Mesh, and optional EDS or Razartape toppings.
For Medium Security applications, Corromesh and Croc Top may present cost savings.

If a Cantilevered Gate is not suitable, ASF has a range of Swing Gates available ranging from 3 to 6 metres. Custom sizes and shapes can also be manufactured to meet your exact requirements.

For those Ultra-High Security facilities, ASF’s Secureglide Gates can be made Anti Ram capable by the inclusion of an ASF Anti Ram by Gibraltar System.
All ASF Secureglide Gates can be fitted with low maintenance motorised drives to allow for controlled and safe, hands free operation.

All Secureglide Cantilever Gates are modifiable for a roller track operation.

Drive Technology
The standard speed drive system incorporates an STA 210 Magnetic torque drive, which operates from a single phase 240 volt power supply. This is mounted onto a pivoted sub assembly with in-built shock absorber. A 24v DC brake is incorporated with the motor and is used to positively lock and retain the fully open or closed positions in a fail safe condition.
The output shaft of the motor drive attaches to a spur gear which engages with rack sections on the upper rail of the gate. Position control is achieved with a proximity sensor identifying striker blocks attached to the gate. The high-speed drive system incorporates a 3 phase induction motor/gear box. It operates from a single-phase 240-volt power supply but derives 3 phase power from an inverter in the controller. This is mounted onto a pivoted sub assembly with in-built shock absorber. A 24v DC brake is incorporated with the motor and is used to positively lock and retain the fully open or closed positions in a fail secure condition.
Position feed back is provided by a proximity switch sensor identifying striker blocks attached to the gate. These signals are used to control ramp up, ramp down, high speed, low speed and end position conditions.

Intelligent Controller
The ASF programmable logic controller (PLC) is provided with an Eeprom chip or programmer to enable software adaptation and interfacing with a variety of remote control devices, security access systems and key card readers. It also integrates the inputs from proximity switch and safety control devices. Outputs are provided for motor drivers, brake status conditions and warning lights. Control voltage is 24v DC and the controller is housed in a lockable IP65 steel enclosure that is located in the main housing.
Site specific features such as partial opening for pedestrian access only may be programmed on request. For fast speed gates, a frequency inverter is added to the PLC. This provides the 3 phase output to drive the motor at varying speeds by altering the frequency, nominally between 12Hz and 60Hz, as well as controlling the acceleration and deceleration times at the end approach stages.

Safety
Safety devices, such as PE beams, loop detectors and safety edge strips are available to suit all applications.
The following safety points should be observed with regard to the installation and operation of the STG sliding gates:

The concrete foundation is to be provided in accordance with ASF's Works Documentation.
Opening and closing operations must be observed!
During operations the presence of persons or goods in the movement zone of the gate is not permitted.
For automatic operations safety beams and strip sensors on the gate and on the gate housing must be installed where vertical bars enter into the housing.
For traffic with trucks and trailers additional inductive loops are required.

Options
A variety of gate designs are possible including spikes, chain wire mesh and pressed metal cladding. Bi-parting gates can be applied to wide carriageways or where back runner restrictions exist.
Battery back up is recommended with a key switch connection to the brake circuit, enabling manual operation during power failure. Alternatively an uninterruptable power supply (UPS) may be permanently fitted to the controller so that normal operation can continue during power

Safety Sounder
Each slide gate should be fitted with a audible sounder for gate movement to warn pedestrians and vehicular traffic of gate movement.
The sounder should sound one second prior to movement of the gate in either opening or closing mode and should continue to sound at one second intervals until the cycle is completed. The sounder is to be fitted on the outside of the gate housing.
Each gate sounder should be fitted to the outside of the control equipment enclosure.

Flashing Light
Each slide gate should be fitted with a flashing light for gate movement to warn pedestrians and vehicular traffic of gate movement.
The flashing light should begin to flash one second prior to movement of the gate in either opening or closing mode and should continue to flash at one second intervals until the cycle is completed.  The flashing light is to be fitted on the top of the gate housing.

Safety - Photo Electric Beams
Each slide gate should have a minimum of two (2) fail-safe photo-electric transmit and receive beams should be installed to provide safety for pedestrians and vehicular traffic.
In the event of PE beam failure the gate system will shut down immediately.
In the event of a PE beam being blocked by a person or vehicle, the gate system will stop and re open and wait until clear, prior to any gate closure.

Safety - Inductive Loops
Each slide gate should have two (02) in ground vehicular inductive loops cut into the existing road surface.  These loops are to provide vehicular safety.

Safety - Screens
Each slide gate should be fitted with a high impact polycarbonate clear safety screen to the gate frame next to the gate housing in the closed position.  The sheet should be 1000mm wide x 2000mm high x 4mm thick.

Safety - Fence
Each slide gate will have a safety fence installed to section off the back rail travel area.  The safety fence should be full height to gate with a 1 meter wide lockable access gate fitted for service access reasons.

Safety – Sensor strips for Gate Opening
Safety sensor strips are installed on the gate main housing to provide safety in the event of an obstacle or pedestrian be caught between the gate uprights.  These two strips would be mounted both sides of the housing such that the obstacle or person would activate this safety strip and stop the gate from opening any further.  The gate would then close approximately 300mm and then for the safety strip to clear.  When the safety strip is clear the gate would then carry out a system reset.

Boom Gates

"ASF's range of boom gates is installed into situations where vehicular access at a controlled point is to be blocked. They are regularly used at rail crossings and parking facilities but can be installed to control traffic into and out of any restricted area.
